SEO experts tell us how important it is to create quality backlinks if we want Google and other search engines to return our website first in organic searches for the keyword we’ve chosen.
There are a number of ways of obtaining backlinks, and some are to be discouraged as I’ve discussed elsewhere. Commenting on other people’s blog posts is a powerful way to draw attention to your website, and you.
Some people imagine that making a comment will lead to their website automatically being advanced in Search Engine rankings. This isn’t necessarily so, You see many, if not most, blogs have as a default setting something called the ‘no follow tag’. This tells search engine robots when they trawl the site that the link in the comment points off the site, and shouldn’t be followed.
It’s not a bad thing to comment upon websites that have the no follow tag enabled because if they’re getting traffic and, your comment is sensible, them possibly a reader will click on your link to learn more about you. The point is though don’t expect the search engine to follow the link!
Some blogs do allow search engines to track those who comment and these can easily be identified using a piece of free software called ‘Real Link Finder.’

Real Link Finder is quite easy to download and install but be aware that you can’t unlock it by submitting a free e-mail address such as one from Yahoo, Google, or MSN. Submit such an address and your unlock code won’t arrive. Submit a regular e-mail address from your own domain and you should have no trouble.

That’s a very useful video.
I’ve heard about backlinks but you helped to clarify why it is worth visiting relevant blogs and making posts there.
I’m going to look at the software you mentioned but it reminds me of another software product produced by an English Marketer whose name excapes me for the moment.
You’ve also helped inspire me to add video to my website. I have created a couple of test videos but I find it difficult to say what I’ve got to say whilst thinking about clicking the right buttons and moving the mouse.
I’m sure it’s a brain malfunction but I’ll get some vitamins or something to help.
