Tunnel Vision ~ More On Taking This Blog Down
Yesterday I wrote about why I’m taking this blog down. The fact is I’m going in a different direction from Internet marketing. That said my new focus will require marketing and lots that I learned from Rich Schefren, Alex Jeffreys, Alex Goad, Mark Dulisse and others too numerous to mention, will come into play.
For example Jason Potash today alerted me to his latest blog post about tunnel vision.
Essentially is saying rather than diversify and attempt to be like Wallmart find a niche that works and sell the hell out of it. The example he gives is of a guy who just sells spiral bound maps.
I intend to focus on photography . . . but not just any photography.

Why I’ve decided to remove this blog!
Last year I took part in Alex Jeffreys’ Coaching Program for Internet Marketets. I also signed up for Rich Schefren’s GPS2 system, subscribed to Google Conquest and purchased Mass Control 2.
I bought lots of other stuff too!
And I had some successes in the Internet marketing field, made a lot of new friends and, overall, found the experience enjoyable.
However my passion is in photography, rather than marketing on-line, and so this is where I’ve decided to focus next year.
For this reason this domain is about to change its focus so this blog will shortly be removed.
I would like to thank all who have visited here over the past year and whatever your endeavours I wish you well.

What Do Chocolate, Internet Marketing, And Money Have In Common?
I have it mind to offer some of those friends I’ve encountered since entering the Internet marketing arena an unusual joint venture, but I’m in two minds about it.
The thing is the way I would prefer to make this venture work is to give a limited number of people access to something valuable, and to which they can contribute and profit substantially. This isn’t some dumb e-book, or give-away product but and extremely valuable resource that others will be eager to purchase.
By joining me in this Joint Venture not only can people increase their own credibility and brand image they can also receive help to build their businesses in a number of ways that I don’t want to specify here.
Now the thing is my wife thinks I’ve finally gone off my rocker. She always suspected as much and now I’m hard pressed to prevent her calling for the boys in white coats.
“It’s easier to sell dollar bills for fifty cents than to give them away”, she says. Moreover there’s quite a lot of experimental data that suggests that when you give someone something valuable they tend to think it’s worthless.
Certainly when I practiced as a psychotherapist people who paid my full fee tended to arrive on time, act on suggestions, took initiatives and frequently recommended me.
Others, who had financial difficulties, so they claimed, were prone to arriving up to twenty-five minutes late, sometimes cancelled their appointments at the very last minute, tended to lack initiative except when it came to spending money elsewhere on unscheduled treats such as holidays financed with credit.
It was also the case that those same people were the ones who thought that going to see a therapist would miraculously make their problems vanish without them having to take any action.
Economists view money as no more than an exchange of tokens that enables life to flow with less effort than, for example, if you had to trade a cow to obtain an item of furniture, or exchange your wristwatch for a tank of petrol.
But psychologists know that money stirs up people in unexpected ways. Some people suffer with a Scrooge like meanness and hoard their funds. These people can never get enough money. Others cannot keep money even when they have stacks of it like Win Win Win Viv Nicholson who won the pools twice and lost every penny she won. Her life story was even made into a successful West End musical that ran for over 2 years from 1998 - 2000 and starred Barbara Dickson.
There’s some evidence that people who give money to good causes tend to be happier than those who spend their wealth on themselves.
Elizabeth Dunn, a psychologist at the University of British Columbia surveyed a sample of more than 600, or so, Americans of both genders. Whilst people spent at least ten times as much on themselves as on others analysis showed that making donations significantly raised peoples’ happiness level, whereas personal spending had little, or no, long term effect.
Kathleen Vohs from the department of marketing at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, found that words connected to money affect people’s performance levels.
By splitting a group into two samples and asking one group to analyse documents with money related words in them, and the other to read documents about other subjects it was possible to determine that people reading money words will work longer and harder before asking for help.
Maybe, to some extent, this goes some way to explaining how, and why, the Internet marketing crowd get pulled into those long sales letters about earning huge wads of cash? Man they’re drugs. The dollar signs and hundred dollar bills just make some people salivate. Reading the sales letter gives them a fix, and pressing the ‘But It Now’ button is the equivillent of ‘mainlining’.
In an article written by Mark Buchanan in New Scientist, (18th March, 2009), he quotes Vohs thus: “Money seems to have symbolic power as a social resource,” says Vohs. “It enables people to manipulate the social system to give them what they want, regardless of whether they are liked.” Put bluntly, it looks as if money is acting as a surrogate friend. Could that explain why some people focus on extrinsic aspirations at the expense of real social relationships?”
In the same article Buchanan quotes other psychologists who assert that there is such a thing as ‘money addiction’, which is apparently as powerful as addiction to nicotine, and more dangerous drugs.
Unfortunately like so many addictions money doesn’t necessarily bring you happiness, although being poor and hungry isn’t a good idea either.
Studies show that women especially delight in giving money away. Their brains light up in similar ways to when they eat chocolate. When forced to spend money on taxes however no such correlation can be found.
This may seem to have come a long way from the original topic of this post but has it? Clearly the whole notion of helping others make money is complex. If making money is an addiction that leads to misery then should it even be permissible?
On the other hand if giving can make you happy shouldn’t I set an example and give this opportunity freely?
Anyway, what I’m proposing isn’t a direct cash hand out, and I’m not suggesting that some work wont be needed if people are to get the most from what I have in mind.
Hell it’s the weekend. I’ll shelve the decision for a few days. It’s not urgent anyway.

@MassControlKern and @TheGazzMan In Nudist Beach Fiasco
Over the past few days I’ve been so impressed by Frank Kern’s Mass Control teasers that they went to my head. Hell, I thought, if Kern can make money by driving his car down the street and showing us a garage full of surf boards it must be worth a shot.
On the way to our exlusive destination, however, somehow Gary Simpson’s name came into the narrative, and so he’s also come to feature in this clip.
You may know that Frank Kern is releasing Mass Control 2 today. It looks like a great, if high endish, product.
Certainly I’ve had a blast playing with all the free videos and stuff he’s shared in the lead up to the release. But I wonder what Gary Simpson would make of it?

The Yip Man’s Gone: What Do I Do Now?
Ever so slowly the dust is beginning to settle after learning that one of Alex’s most dedicated students, Nigel Yip, has decided to quit. I am also beginning to remember how I came to start this blog and why I’m where I am now.
I’ve been helped in this realization by three fellow students in Alex Jeffreys Coaching Program.
Marcel Heersema, like me, started his blog because that’s what Alex asked all his students to do. In it he writes:
"I have to tell you that joining the Marketing with Alex program is really the best thing I’ve done so far in my chase for becoming a full time Internet marketer!"
Via Twitter though he remarked: "Marketing with Alex is just a part of what I do. I am not really doing marketing within the group."
I applaud his attitude, and especially for remembering that he has a life outside of Alex’s Program. I certainly see my fellow students as a resource, rather than targets for any Internet marketing, or other, products that I have on offer.
Gary Simpson wrote a comment here just a day or so back in response to my post about the webinar that Alex and Dietzel made last Monday. Here’s what he said:
". . . the Gazz-Man has decided that HE needs to have a law. So, here goes; Gazz-Man’s Law: A man’s gotta be what a man’s gotta be."
Nadav Saltsman asked me how I came to leave the health industry and get into Internet marketing? I replied that I never intended to be an Internet marketer, my intention is to learn how to market using the Internet. That’s why I joined Alex’s coaching program.
The fact is though that in order to teach us the nuts and bolts of the methods he uses Alex encouraged every student to set up a website devoted to tracking our progress as Internet marketers.
Now as the Program is nearing it’s conclusion it’s time for me to take stock and decide what to do with this website.
Here are the choices:
- Take the website down and apply what I’ve learned from Alex about marketing using the Internet to my other businesses, such as my Fine Art Photography.
- Keep going in the current vein adding more and more posts about what my fellow students are up to, and how their progress and blogs influence me as I market on the Internet.
- Remodel the website so it looks more like http://kotobot.com and http;//networkonlinesecrets.com both of which focus on selling Internet products.
- Build my own brand, and products, in the site based upon my past experience as a psychotherapist as well as my current work helping people develop successful family businesses.
- And, of course there could be options I’ve not considered here?
What I would like you to do right now is to write and tell me what you would do in my place by making a comment below.

Did you know Gary was once arrested for fornicating with a Cow?
Yes it’s true, at least by an account from the man himself, you can find the reference here. It’s a great story about the life changing experience of a young military policemen long ago stationed in Germany with the US forces.
At the time Gary had no idea that he would one day become one of the most well-known copywriters of the twentieth century. Have you caught on yet about whom I am writing?
If you haven’t heard of Gary Halbert then, were he still alive, he might ask you where you’ve been for the past thirty years. If you have heard of him and then use his methods to peddle c**p he would undoubtedly refer to you as a ’sh*tweasel’.
My friend Gary Simpson, who I’ve never met in person but who engages his readers, including me, so completely that I cannot think of him other than as a friend, and a good one, thinks Gary Halbert became embittered in the last years of his life and overused the term ’sh*tweasel’.
I don’t know about that, what I do know is that had Gary Halbert been alive today and seen what Gary Simpson has accomplished in the few short months he has been writing his blog ‘Internet Marketing Temple of Learning for Newbies‘ he would have been amazed.
Gary Simpson has created a ‘Mecca’ for newbies on-line and through sheer dedication amassed a huge following. What I enjoy about both of these Garys is that they never attempt to sell you anything directly instead they provide interests, information, and amusement orchestrated via their unique personalities.
I sometimes tease Gary Simpson because of all the photographs he has of himself wearing a ‘Gi‘ ~ canvass pajamas to you and me 
But when you take the trouble to visit his website you’ll also see him in a DJ and several other kinds of wear.
The mark of a Master is someone who is comfortable across a range of contexts. Gary Simpson is too modest to say as much and, even though I regard Gary as a friend, I also remove my shoes and bow my head before visiting his website.
Gary Halbert had great respect for many other copywriters because he knew just how much research and work goes into writing good copy. Of all the copywriters Gary admired his favourite and closest rival and contemporary is Gary Bengivenga. Gary has a very simple website called BencivengaBullets.com/ and the good news is that you can go there, right now if you like, and Gary will send you simple copywriting tips via e-mail for free.
To my knowledge Gary Bengivenga has no predilections for animal livestock but is someone to whom you should take notice. He’s so busy that you can’t hire him. He threatens to retire, even though those in the know refer to him as ‘the best copywriter in America’.

Why I Am Building Forty Websites In Sixty Days
Last week seemed like days upon days of gremlins. Nevertheless I’ve been making progress with publishing my forty new websites in sixty days. Will I make it? I don’t think so because of family commitments and also because there’s still a little more to do on the Alex Jeffreys Course. Will I get close? You bet 
Not to bore you with the complete list of things that have been going wrong here are a few examples:
- Car passed Safety Certificate but the Car Alarm went mental.
- PayPal restricted my account access because I had made a payment that they couldn’t figure out!
- Storms cut both the electricity, and ADSL for around two days.
Etc. Yawn! Thankfully all seems back to normal today.
Anyway, a couple of people have been inquiring why am I attempting to build so many web sites and whom are my mentors?
Quite simply I’ve been building websites because Google wants all of us to do so. If you give Google what she wants then she will bring you traffic and you won’t even have to pay for it, except with a little time and grunt work.
Traffic = Money, if done right, right?
So with whom am I studying. I can’t reveal the names of all of my mentors but one is Brian Johnson who has been helping people to build Google friendly pages for some years and has even made a short Course about how to do so.
I have no hesitation in recommending Brian to you if you want to earn a steady income, rather than attempt to earn mega bucks all in a few blasts.
My strategy is to do both. I am going to build some niche websites that produce a steady income and then start to launch some of my own products.
Why am I going about developing my on-line business in this way?
Quite simply a clutch of forty, or so websites will provide me with the experience I need before ‘going solo’. I know that I’ll make some errors, but hopefully I won’t make the same mistakes on every website and so I can test what works before putting my neck on the block.
You may wonder if you too can benefit from some mentoring with Brian and my other mentors? It’s a good question and if you’re new to niche marketing then undoubtedly you could learn masses were you in my shoes.
Unfortunately at the moment you can’t get on this program or reach my teachors for mentoring. One is a multi-mega Internet millionaire who even I sometimes find difficult to contact. Another is reorganizing some of his sites. He has a great membership site waiting in Beta Modes but it’s not quite ready to go public ~ when it does I’ll let you know. By the way I’m a life member

Internet Marketing: My Irresistable Offer
I’ve not posted for a day, or so, because I’ve had some computer problems and also I’ve been reworking the Master Plan
Today I’ve started to manufacture a product. This is a $500 product that lots of people need, even if they don’t know it yet!

Internet Marketing: Getting Your Priorities Right
When it comes to making resolutions it’s important to realize that a million dollars doesn’t equal a happy family, a healthy body, or creative thinking. Making a million is undoubtedly a system and any system that can by build by one may be replicated by many.
History is littered with examples of ’successful’ people who led tragic personal lives because their businesses ran them, rather than they running their businesses.
Money Isn’t Everything!
Maybe some of them seemed to enjoy prosperity and live to ripe old ages, but then looking deeper we find that their children and grandchildren suffered terrible lives. If you’re thinking of stopping reading this here DON’T because there’s a simple solution to these kinds of problems and that solution is to start right today.
You remember how Alex Jeffreys exhorted us to formulate business plans, to work in set amounts of time, to outsource business tasks when someone else’s time could be bought for less than we pay ourselves? That was good advice but I’ve been doing something extra since studying with Alex.
Many people make resolutions at the beginning of the year, but few make detailed plans to achieve them. To succeed in life you need to know what you want, make a plan to get it, and then take action.
Right from Day One I vectored in time for my family. I know when my child returns from school. I know that I need to devote at least four hours a day’s worth of quality time with her and I make that time because I plan my work to take place at other times when she’s not around. It’s the same for time with my spouse, we take pains to eat together, walk in the fresh air together, and stay close by. Incidentally although we collaborate closely on some charitable projects she takes no part in my Internet business. I prefer a personal relationship rather than a business relationship with her.
My family are really delighted by my planning time and activities with them. My wife finds I’m MORE accessible since I’ve been busier with my Internet business, she says I do more around the house too. I haven’t let on that this is occurring because I intended it, but her comments brought a smile to my face.
Each day I work at this business I don’t try to broker deals, or bring in business coups, I simply work toward building a business identity to which others can relate. There will be products yes, but I am not in a hurry to push these.
Most of all though I think about the future. I attempt to person that leads by example; who lives in comfort modestly and within my means; who gives generously; has time to spare for those who need it; is grateful for simple pleasures such as a sunrise or a thunder storm; and most of all for being alive today.
Please remember as you make your New Years Resolutions that a list is not a plan and a plan is not helpful unless you act upon it. Start by deciding what you want to achieve for others, such as your family, and yourself and then build your business around those goals.

Increase on-line traffic: Should You Attempt This Yourself?
The incomparable Seth Godin today published a brief article about the relationship between expertise and passion.
In it he says:
“I think if the work is important, it should be done with passion and skill and flair. But the work of balancing the books, or running Google adwords or making sure that customers are treated well at the ski school often has nothing to do with the product or service itself. It’s more important that you be passionate about what you do all day than it is to be passionate about the product that is being sold. Give me someone with domain expertise and the passion to do great work any time. Belief in the mission matters (a lot!), but it doesn’t replace skill.”
The question then for a small business owner seeking to promote their product, or service, via a website is should they attempt to master website building and maintenance themselves, or should they hire someone else to do it for them?
Internet Mrketing coach Alex Jeffreys is in no doubt that technical matters should be outsourced to industry experts, unless of course you’re an expert yourself. In his book a business owner’s role is simply to decide in what direction s/he wants the business to go, and then get others to do the sweat-work for them. It’s worked for other business leaders too.
It worked for Richard Branson, and before him John Paul Getty, Nelson Rockefeller, and Andrew Carnegie. No general fights with rifle and bayonet but their skill in directing specialists in firepower and logistics can sever thousand of causalities, including civilians and also the foe who gets soundly defeated.

Godin prizes brains and flair and if you’re possessed of these then working for Seth Godin could kick-start your success. The question for me now is should I continue to tweak this website, a little here, a little there to increase my on-line traffic, or should I hire an expert?

Increase On-line Traffic: Don’t Be Tempted To Use These Tricks!
OK I know we’re all fired up and wanting to get as much traffic as possible in order to win the $1000.00. prize Alex Jeffreys is offering for the student who generates most traffic. But isn’t it important to keep our integrity, and also guarantee that our website will remain indexed by Google in years to come attesting to our stories?
It’s been said on some blogs that people are using Black Hat tactics to generate more traffic. That’s really not a good idea because the good people at Google aren’t stupid. Indeed the word Google is synonymous with ’smart’.
I’ve written previously about keeping within Google Guidelines and the reasons to do so. Let me state here and now that if you attempt to play chess with Google you will lose, and you will go down.
Here are some Black Hat ticks to avoid:
1. Keyword stuffing: Don’t fill your text and meta tags with meaningless keywords. Google has a system that knows if the keywords in your site are relevant to the content of the article you’ve written. Also if you add too many keywords into your text and meta tags Google may still penalise you because they will assume that you’re writing for them, rather than for people.
2. Paid Links and Link Farming: Some people treat these two Black Hat techniques as different categories but essentially both involve buying links to your website either by belonging to sites that will provide you with a link, for a fee, or using link building software that builds incoming links automatically.
3. Automatic Linking: It doesn’t follow that who you follow will necessarily follow you. Links that do so may have been generated by software. The aim is to have websites that look, and are organic. Google likes these. In the context of Alex Jeffreys’ current program I think students should only include sites in their blogroll that are adhering to the standards that Alex Prescribes, and take care not to link to websites with inferior content.
4. Duplicate Sites and/or Content: Don’t steal someone’s content, change a few words or tags and represent it as your own. Google are far cleverer than you may realize. The same rules apply when using, or quoting others, as in any other form of publishing. If you’re quoting someone else then give them credit, and provide a link out to their website.
5. Hiding Your Text: Don’t put hidden text on your website. Hidden text is when you write something in the same colour ink as the background. The object is to fool the Google into thinking that your website is about one thing when it’s about something else. The Google robot may not be able to tell the difference, for example, between black writing on a white background from white writing on a white background, but Google will eventually catch you out ~ Game Over!
6. Doorway Pages: These are pages that are optimised for specific keywords but point to a hub website. Google doesn’t like these and will penalize you if you attempt such tactics.
7. Cloaking: On no account display one website to visitors and another to the Googlebot. Indeed you’re best to avoid using framed content on your website at all. I’m not suggesting that YOU would think of using any of these Black Hat tactics that can get you penalised by Google, but offer this page as a guide in case others offer you bad advice.
What then is my recommendation for achieving high a high page-rank at Google? Easy, simply write useful, original content

Alex Jeffreys: The Guru’s Dream Bonus Review
Have you read ‘The Guru’s Dream’? It’s an incredible Free 84 page PDF e-Book by Alex Jeffreys in which he reveals some facts about Internet marketing that ‘the gurus’ don’t want you to know.
Alex is a fan of Tim Ferris, author of ‘The Four Hour Work Week’. He has good reason to admire Tim’s approach, because at one time Alex was working sixteen hour days just trying to keep up with all the advice and systems being sold, or given away on the Internet. B.T.W. I still think Alex works pretty hard, despite reading Tim Ferris’ book
The eye-opener in ‘The Four Hour Work Week’, for Alex though, was the revelation that he was living a better life than many of his millionaire friends even though he was, at the time, earning a fraction of their earnings.
The fact is that if you get the priorities in your life wrong you’ll end up with ulcers, your bowels will be removed a centimetre at a time by surgeons, or your spouse will leave you for hir personal trainer. I wrote about this a day, or so ago in this blog. It’s your life man ~ get it right! Whoops, back to the review . . . . Alex explains that he sets his business and entrepreneurial goals around his personal goals. In other words Alex imagines his desired lifestyle first, and then sets out to create business systems that will support it.
This approach differs from that of most people, who simply grab fragments of Internet marketing systems and attempt to put them together simply to make money. This is a huge mistake! Be More Than A Carbon Copy Marketer Alex writes: “Remember this is business and if you play outside the court you’ll get left behind. . . . if you keep playing in the guru’s court they’ll only let you score a few points. ”
So you have to make your own game on your own court. And the potential for newcomers to the Internet has never been greater!” To paraphrase Alex, the reason you’re unlikely to make money on-line is because the gurus are lying to you. They peddle the idea that their product is a business in a box.
All you need do to make loads of instant cash is to plug their program into your computer and the computer will do all the work. It’s a lie, but it works for the gurus because for some their system will work, and because it’s a lie that you want to hear. So why do some of these systems work for some, and not for others?
Quite simply because the people who make the guru’s systems work already know how to make money on line. They’ve built their businesses, they are already outsourcing routine maintenance tasks on their business, and the latest plug-in already integrates with what they’re doing. Alex shares Zig Ziglar’s belief:
“You can have everything you want in life if you help enough other people get what they want in life.” If you want to join the 1% of people, like Alex, who are making money on-line you need to read ‘The Guru’s Dream’. Then you should re-read it, and then read it again, especially if you’re a guru. Because you see we’re in a new era on the Internet. We’re networked.
In the past hyped headlines may have proven to make more sales but that’s about to change. If you’re a guru and you’re hyping a product that performs poorly you can now easily be exposed. People have less disposable income than in the past, and they’re more wary of the red headlines full of bold claims.
Today people are beginning to do their research by reading blogs such as this one. By exchanging information on Facebook and MySpace, by reading the open communications between people on Twitter, as well as participating in forums such as The Internet Marketing Warriors. If you think that this post is going to give you the whole content of ‘The Guru’s Dream’, syllable-by-syllable, then I’m going to disappoint you right now.

Alex Jeffreys’ Coaching: Rectifying The Omission In Module No: 1.
It has consistently been my experience that you learn quicker and faster from a skilled and practised teacher than you ever may from a book. But there’s just one exception to this rule that stands out head and shoulders in my life. It’s not actually a physical book at all, in fact, it’s a PDF. I found it so useful that I printed out every page of my copy and had it professionally bound. That cost me more than any regular bookstore purchase but for me it was worth every cent.
The Image That Catapulted My Improved Lifestyle
Before I reveal the title of this book, and why reading it is warranted if you’re thinking of making any significant changes in your life, for example moving, or starting a business, I’m going to share a little of my story and surroundings.
Just five years ago I was renting a small two room apartment, opposite some wheely-bins, in the middle of Istanbul. Although the apartment enjoyed splendid views of the Bosphorus, and opposite was a grassy park, it became too small when our tiny baby started to grow.
I craved a return to the countryside and at about that time my sister-in-law sent me a greeting card with the image you see posted above as the frontpiece.
Unfortunately, as I write this, my sister-in-law is in a hospital in Atlanta, her pacemaker failed mid-flight from England. She was on her way to spend Christmas with relatives.
As I looked at the card I realized that the picture represented many of the features that I wanted in my life, and to be able to share these with my family, but in order to live like that almost everything would have to change!
Those days I was working hard in various different locations, both teaching psychotherapy and also practicing. I was fashionable among the wealthy middle classes of Istanbul, but devoted most of my time to working with a number of charities and public service organizations. In short there were routines to life, and also a personal identity and reputation to maintain, and these would all evaporate if we were to move to the countryside as I wished.
Around this time I heard about this e-Book. It was a popular product on the Internet and as soon as I purchased my copy, with my professional background, I could understand why. It is a cookbook for organizing your mind do get the results you require.
Before I go on I should state that, you can take the information in the book in two different ways. You can either assume the book intends that you understand the world as if it is constructed according to the principles of, another popular book published a few years later, called ‘The Secret’, or you can take it, as I do, as a recipe for organizing your thoughts and habits as well overcoming your inhibitions and opening up your perceptions to new possibilities.
Once you have purchased the book all you need do is apply the methods it prescribes. To do that you need a pen and paper, and also to devote a little time to improving your life. By the way, this isn’t about creating a wish list, or visualization, or chanting, or anything of that kind although if you are able to imagine a healthy future that will help.
There are two methods in the book. The first method is quite basic, but very powerful. The second is even more powerful and best not adopted until you’ve mastered the first.
How did I get on when I started to apply the methods contained in the book?
The Results:
- The rental on a larger apartment I was going to move to in order to maintain my current obligations fell through. But I had already given in my notice on the previous apartment, and so in effect had made the family homeless!
- Someone gave us the use of a house on a Mediterranean beach for as long as we want to use it, rent-free, provided we meet the service bills, (currently around $250 per year).
- I found and bought exactly the vehicle, colour make and model, I wanted for sale from a small used car seller that I hadn’t even noticed was there before, about one hundred yards from our home.
- An investment materialized providing sufficient funds to buy the car, move house, and live modestly for several years without ever having to work again.
- The house on the beach also has a stream running at the bottom of the garden, just like the cottage in the greeting card
Make no mistake, I am not suggesting that you will necessarily obtain similar results. I am simply writing about how the information in this booked worked for me. I am now going to write why today I dusted-off my copy of that book and I’m starting to use it in tandem with the information provided by Alex Jeffreys.

Alex Jeffreys’ Coaching Strengths and Weaknesses
You see if there’s one weakness in Alex Jeffreys’ Coaching then it’s in the very first module. I don’t blame Alex for this, hey it’s the first time he’s attempted anything like this and what he put in that module is completely valid. The trouble is though, although he told you how to get into a business-mind-set; manage your time to be productive; and track when you’re ‘goofing off’, he didn’t mention any methods of honing your mind down so that it only can bring you the lifestyle that you want.
Since jump-starting my Internet business I’ve had to outsource some tasks and one of these has been to set someone going around other students’ blogs checking to see if they’re following Alex, using WordPress, have installed their Profit Pulling Project etc. Jobey, the guy I set on this task was here yesterday to share Christmas Dinner and, remarked “As far as I can see the only person that is benefiting from all these blogs is Alex Jeffreys.”
Jobey, of course, doesn’t have access to the coaching modules, and hasn’t been following the webinars so doesn’t appreciate just how much Alex is doing for us. But his comment got me thinking.
You see when you’re following a Master it’s important to separate the ‘Man’ from the ‘Message’. Alex would be the first to affirm that we’re all different, and it’s your ‘light’ that needs to shine in these blogs rather than his, because you and he are different. So whilst it’s desirable to follow Alex when it comes to time management, and finding business opportunities, it probably doesn’t suit to drink gallons of ‘Red Bull’ to keep yourself fuelled so that you can work 48 hours a day for seven days a week. It certainly doesn’t suit me!
Internet Marketing The Organic Way?
In my very first post on this blog I asked: “Does the Internet belong solely to the world of instant ‘Pop Tart’s and ‘Microwave Chips’ or can it serve those of us for whom ‘freedom’ means living a simple life, and perhaps serving others a little along the way? The cheapest traffic available comes free from search engines, and it’s conservatively estimated that over 60% of searches are made through Google. Google likes to ‘own’ the web because it says: “Google’s mission is to organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful.”
You want to align yourself with the Google mission if you aim to have a high page rank on Google. Fortunately Google provides webmasters with heaps of resources to help you create successful websites, which will pull in a ton of traffic.
Does this mean that you should ignore other search engines, such as Yahoo, Ask, MSN, Altavista, Alltheweb, and those hundred or so others competing to deliver relevant traffic to surfers? No of course not, but if you follow the Google guidelines most likely you’ll improve your ratings in the other search engines too ~ certainly following Google guidelines does no harm
So what does Google have to say about how your website should be structured? How should you place the content and the links so that your site is accessible, and if you are providing quality information, is more accessible than other websites?
Simple, read the Google guidelines every week at least once and make sure that you structure your website as they advise.
So in order to create a quality standard for your website you really don’t need to do that much work because some very clever people at Google have already done the work for you. Nevertheless a simple checklist that highlights those Google requirements would be helpful to most webmasters so I’ve created one for you to download from here.
Google is cautious, if not off-putting, with respect to employing Search Engine Oprimization (SEO) specialists because some use ‘black hat’ methods to attempt to fool the Google algorithms and undermine the standards for quality and information sharing it upholds. Moreover, many SEO specialists charge for their time, rather than Google Real Time Traffic, that is the traffic gained as measured by Google Analytics.

Alex Jeffreys Just Ruined My In-Box
OK folks I’m having a Twitter, or is it an Alex Jeffreys emergency? This morning at three a.m. Alex told me how to get more followers on Twitter. Then he continued to coach his on-line students in a webinar. While he was offering them sound advice I followed his directions and within an hour had increased my Twitter following from 28, which is what it has been at for the past six months, to 147.
Today one person has been following me every few minutes. Willie Crawford has sent me a personal message, my In-Box is going crazy. I can’t keep up, but keep following me because I will get on top of this!
Alex isn’t following me yet . . . bummer!
But my Twitter followers have grown to 416, and I’ve done nothing since 5.00 a.m.
And I am left wondering how to handle all my new relationships? I am a Twit-freak and I’m unsure how to cope?

There was a massive amount of information in Alex Jeffreys’ webinar this morning. It was nearly seven a.m. before I got to bed but during the question and answer session, which lasted a full three hours, I was able to increase my Twitter following from 28 people to well over 150 people during that time based solely on one tip that Alex told us.
I will be thinking about traffic during the next few weeks, and trying out some of Alex’s ideas, plus a few I’ve picked up from Internet Marketer Alex Goad.

Alex Jeffreys’ Coaching: Following The Route Faithfully
This post is prompted by something I read on Nigel Yip’s website. Nigel is a really great guy who has been enthusiastic about Alex Jeffreys’ Coaching from the very beginning, He’s out their supporting us all by commenting on our work and he even made the promotional video for Garry Parkes Profit Pulling Project Newsletter.
But last evening Nigel was disappointed because this week’s webinar on traffic building has been held over until today. Nigel writes: "I’m now really annoyed as Alex did promise us to make money by Christmas. For some, this has come true, for me - well it’s something else and hence my second drat. I’ve been getting quite a few page hits (just gone past 1307 mark for page views and 1251+ unique visitors) from dunno where, but they are simply not converting into subscribers or sales. It makes me wonder whether I’ve been doing something wrong here?"
I don’t think that Nigel is doing anything wrong, although I’m not sure that a pop-up on his site is helpful? I just think that Alex was being ambitious in thinking we would all make some money by Christmas. I wrote as much to Nigel when I read his post.
The fact is though that not everyone will make money with Alex, and when they don’t it won’t be Alex’s fault. If you follow the exact steps that Alex took to make his list grow to 20,000 subscribers then there’s no reason why yours won’t become as large, or even larger. If you rush ahead, putting all kinds of banners, bells, and whistles on your website then you’re not following Alex’s path and might well find yourself in the wrong place. When you create a resource such as a forum, or a newsletter, you must service it if you’re to maintain your credibility.
Failure to do so will may well damage your reputation. Spending too much time discussing Alex Jeffreys’ Coaching, rather than using that time for profitable activities such as, business planning and product development will delay your first dollar as easily as if you had been using your computer to play flight simulation games, or downloading music files. You will not succeed, with this program, unless you follow all the steps as prescribed, and follow the Course to the very end.

Are There Too Many Forums In Your Life?
My fellow students on Alex Jeffreys’ Coaching Course are taking initiatives. Some are following the curriculum and others are blazing ahead independently.
I am being cautious. I like to see the big picture before attempting to alter the map. I know that I must create an e-book and eventually a product because these have been mentioned by Alex. I’m in no hurry, quality counts, I just don’t want to be left behind again.
Recently I’ve become aware that people are setting up forums. One forum I visited had an indiciferable ‘Captcha’ on it. It locked me out for a full five minutes as I attempted to register. Traditionally forums have been seen as places where Internet Marketers broker joint ventures and help each other out, in exchange for being able to put a link to their URL in the post signature. This is supposed to bring traffic.

The problem for our forums is that time spent’ chatting’ may be better spent developing products or services. But isn’t it just so much more comfortable to discuss things, rather than taking action?
It matters not if you’re a student of Alex Jeffreys, or not, just ask yourself this question. Am I contributing to the Forum and is the Forum truly helping me to build my Internet business.
If the answer to the first question is ‘No’, you’re doing yourself no favours. If the answer to the second is ‘No’ then you’re wasting time that could be better spent on other activities.

Garry Parkes: The Profit Pulling Project
I am so excited. Today Garry Parkes will release the first Profit Pulling Project Newsletter. Few have engaged in Alex Jeffreys’ Coaching Program with so much enthusiasm as Garry.
Unfortunately, as I wrote this Garry’s own blog was burred behind a standard Apache Server Error page. Garry’s blog was for most of us the hot place to go for the latest news of our fellow students and also to review his comprehensive blogroll ~ so what happened?
Alex Jeffreys attributes Garry’s problems to ’server meltdown’ due to all the traffic he’s been sending Garry. I doubt if that’s the case. Garry’s server problem has all the hallmarks of a disaster I experienced earlier in the year. The hosting company with which I had run one of my business websites suddenly stopped communicating with me. They became like the Marie Celeste, an abandoned hulk.
Telephones were answered by robots promising to take messages if I pressed touch tone buttons. E-mails went into a black hole. Faxes failed, and letters vanished. I could no longer log into my billing account. None of this would have been critical had I not unwisely transferred my domain name renewal to the same hosting company.
The result of this cut-off from communication is that what was my domain name now spews out robotisized adverts for anyone looking for me. What has this to do with Garry Parkes? Maybe nothing at all? I understand though that Garry was in the process of transferring his domain to a new provider when his website went down. Is it possible that his previous provider is the agency from which Garry purchased his domain name, and they’re dragging their feet in enabling the transfer of the DNS?
When you do things the Alex Jeffreys’ way these kind of problems don’t occur.
You buy your domain name from ‘NameCheap.com‘, and, when starting out, purchase your name from HostGator.com. In this way you have full access to your domain name settings, and so can point your domain to whatever DNS you wish. I hope Garry’s problems are soon resolved ~ I am certainly looking forward to receiving his ‘Profit Pulling Project Newsletter. P.S. The person who may have the inside story on this is Mark Austin. Switching My Auto-Responder To AWeber.
It’s always best to get things right the first time. Although switching my autoresponder from the one on my own server to AWeber was relatively painless it still took up some valuable time.
Whilst I was at it I also moved my products to another website on a completely different server, and added a ‘robots.txt’ file to both domains so that spiders don’t catalogue my free e-books, or products.
Yesterday I also added a blogroll of my fellow students on Alex Jeffreys’ Coaching Course. I’ve yet to come up with any ideas for my own e-book, or product yet somehow I think I am making progress.

Has Alex Jeffreys Cooked My Life?
Around the same time that I was introduced to Alex Jeffreys and his coaching program my wife acquired a DVD called ‘How To Cook Your Life’. It’s about Edward Espe Brown a Western Zen Master and Master Chef.

I don’t want to write at length about this DVD but I found one concept very valuable. Referring to bread making, Brown reminded us that whilst in the West we think of cooking bread, in the East, traditionally, the concept is ‘bread cooking us’
I’ve discovered that Alex Jeffreys’ Coaching Program is slowly cooking me. You may wonder what I mean?
Quite simply I am finding that it’s quite hard to let go of the safety rails and get stuck in. Here’s an example - some time ago I was given an autoresponder script that rests on my own server. For all I ask of it, which isn’t much, it has functioned efficiently. I can download my subscribers as a CSV file, or indeed import a file from elsewhere. I love the idea that it came to me free of charge and doesn’t require a monthly outlay.
Guess what? I’ve never build any kind of profitable list with it.
Enter Alex Jeffreys guns blazing recommending I subscribe to AWeber, an account that’s likely to cost me twenty, or so, bucks a month.
What did Stephen do? Of course he set up his ‘Profit Pulling Platform’ with his own autoresponder, but then over the next few days the Zen Roshi’s phrase started to reverberate and resonate in my mind. You see Alex Jeffreys has made more money on-line, per year, than I ever saw at the height of my professional career. He says that I should be using AWeber, so why am I not doing so I pondered? Somehow I could see that my unwillingness to invest in a professional autoresponder service must, most likely, take me toward a path of failure. Like a Zen Koan the my reluctance, and questioning thereof, ate into my Mind and I discovered that not only was I being unwilling to play the game of Internet Marketing, I was also not engaging in the ‘Game of Life’.
So tonight I signed up for an AWeber account, and tomorrow I will put my profit pulling platform on a separate domain and use my new AWeber account to collect all my new subscribers.
Some might say this shows a kind of dependency. Others may feel that I should save my cash and just use my current autoresponder script, since it has worked until now. But I think that the act of obtaining an AWeber account is a commitment to Alex Jeffreys, this project, my fellow students, and ultimately the force that binds us together.

Don’t get me wrong, Dean Holland and I aren’t cousins or anything like that; we’re both students of Internet Marketing Coach Alex Jeffreys.
The difference between us, however, is that Dean is six weeks ahead of me and has already put into practice what Alex recommends. I am as jealous as hell!
Alex Jeffreys, Dean Holland, and I are part of a pyramid that starts with no lesser person than Jay Abraham. Abraham is a business master and broker of the first order of magnitude. It’s virtually impossible to get access to Jay Abraham unless you’re already established in business.
Jay Abraham has several prodigies. The on best respected by Internet Marketers is Rich Schefren. Schefren has helped many online businesses flourish by helping their owners to set up their structures and systems to work efficiently. One such business that Schefren helped to grow is owned by Mike Filsaime, who was operating out of a bedroom office before he met Schefren.
It is through Mike Filsaime that Alex Jeffreys was introduced to Rich Schefren. Jeffreys had previously paid Filsaime $5000 to teach him the Internet Marketing Business. This investment paid off ‘big time’ for Alex who is still in his twenties.
Today Alex Jeffreys has Rich Schefren’s ear, he is part of an ‘inner circle’ that meet regularly both on and off line.

And there you have it. If Jay Abraham is the ‘Great-grandpa of business success’, then Schefren must be Mike Filsaime’s Dad! Alex Jeffreys will be Filsaime’s offspring, who has now been taken under his grandad’s wing. Dean and I are Alex’s progeny, but where Dean is up and walking, I am still learning how to crawl.
It will be good to get out of diapers!

How Dean Holland Changed My Life
If you’ve never heard of Dean Holland you are in exactly the same position as I was a month ago. During that time Dean has changed my life, yet we have never even met.
By day Dean works long hours in a grueling job that gives him little satisfaction, but every night he returns home and works on his Internet Business. A big business was just a small business that did the right things. A wealthy business owner was an opportunity seeker who became an entrepreneur. But in order to become successful at the million dollar level you must first strategically plan your work and work your plan.

Next put in systems that automate your daily processes. Hire people to help and outsource work that can be done more efficiently by someone else. Gain momentum from the early stages to get things off of the ground and never look back.

The Internet is full of blogs and many of them are about Internet Marketing, so why am I adding to the vast quantity of words that are already to be found here?
I’m on a quest to discover how the big fish make their money, and if it’s possible to earn and at the same time keep life simple?
Is there a ‘Zen’ of Internet Marketing?
Does the Internet belong solely to the world of instant ‘Pop Tart’s and ‘Microwave Chips’ or can it serve those of us for whom ‘freedom’ means living a simple life, and perhaps serving others a little along the way? Is there a ‘wholemeal’ version of Internet marketing, or is it all scams and hype?
Over the past ten years I have made a number of websites, many offering original high quality information. I read countless e-books, and studied the methods that the ‘gurus’ recommend. I watched hours on on-live video presentations about Internet marketing. Yet my total online earnings amount to less than $1000.
A month ago Alex Jeffreys met a young man named Dean Holland. Dean works ten hour days in an uninspiring job, but he was inspired by what Alex Jeffreys had to say. A day or so after meeting Alex he set up his own blog, and within a month had produced his first e-book. At the time that Dean published his book he had already earned over $1700 even without his own product. That’s a standing start from being a complete Internet newbie to making $1700 within a month.
Alex Jeffreys, The Internet Marketing Master
All of this would probably be academic except I recently received an invitation to join a coaching program run by Alex Jeffreys, who is a successful on-line marketer. Something about Alex’s presentation attracted me and awoke a desire to join the fraternity of Internet millionaires. Alex isn’t yet a millionaire but he sups at their tables. Moreover he has made money online using more than one vehicle. His first product, for example, was a book about EBay auctions. Alex had made considerable money from EBay selling motorbikes that he had imported into the UK. It was only later that he turned his attention to selling information products.
Alex is an exceptionally good coach. He is so enthusiastic about his students that his webinars frequently last for seven hours, right through the night where he lives in the UK, because most of his students are located in the USA.
As this website develops you will find that there are networks of students on all continents who are studying with Alex Jeffreys. Many have had their blogs out there longer than me and are already making sales on-line.

Hello, and welcome to my website,
Before I write about my achievements I have a confession to make. You will see below that I have been successful in a number of careers and also am moderately well-educated ~ yet success on the Internet has always eluded me.
I have been on-line for nearly ten years. Personally built a number of websites, one of which pulls nearly 1000 unique visitors a day, and in all that time my websites have generated less than $1000 dollars in total.
Undoubtedly my websites have helped my off-line businesses, and also been a resource for others, but when I see countless numbers of people securing the future for their families through Internet Services and Internet Marketing I become frustrated. I guess we all want the best for our families and to have the freedom to travel and explore new activities and horizons, certainly I do.
So in November 2008 I reviewed what I had been doing on line and came to the conclusion that the reason I hadn’t achieved the success I wanted was me! You see I had been studying all the methods that people suggest, and even attempted to implement some of them, but I had done so with the wrong attitude. I expected to be able to make it on-line without the support of someone who had already achieved online success themselves.
And also something was bothering me; I couldn’t really imagine what on-line success would be like? I didn’t really want something to come into my life that would change the balance in my lifestyle, I really doubted, or should I say feared, that somehow financial freedom would corrupt me?
Shortly after resolving to change my ways and study with an established Internet marketer the opportunity to study with Alex Jeffreys arrived on my desktop. I did not hesitate, not simply because of Alex’s persuasive skills but because in many ways we are different, and I figured that somewhere in what makes Alex different I would find the secret of his success.
One major difference between Alex and me, I discovered, is that if Alex doesn’t understand something he hires someone to either do the work for him, or coach him. By nature I’ve always been a loner, preferring to do things myself. This has sometimes been helpful, yet looking back what has been most beneficial to me has always come through the input of a good teacher.
As I write this a few weeks have passed since I hooked up with Alex. I have yet to make any money but Alex has helped me to put some foundations in place to help me to do so.
In order to fairly test if Alex’s methods work I am following his instructions implicitly. Also to help you, if you’re completely new to Internet marketing, I decided not to publish my journey with Alex on my website. the with all those visitors already coming daily, but to host with a new Internet account, on a different server, and with a completely independent domain name and URL. In this way you may be sure that you can make it happen too, even if you currently don’t have a website.
I promised at the start of this page that I would tell you a little about some of my achievements off-line. I trained originally as a social worker and spent most of my career working as s psychotherapist. During that time I helped countless adults and children in such diverse areas as eating disorders, trauma recovery, family and child abuse, and a host of other worries. I have trained counseling and health professionals including medical doctors and clinical psychologists. Aside from that career I also wrote an advice column for a local newspaper, helped a major UK bank set up an innovative community for its business customers and staff, and today I am an established fine art photographer.
None of this really matters if you’re here to discover how to gain financial freedom online. What matters is that you find a teacher who can help you through the basics of setting up your business, putting it online, and creating profits in ethical ways.
