Alex Jeffreys’ Coaching: Rectifying The Omission In Module No: 1.

By Stephen On December 26, 2008 Under Internet Marketing

It has consistently been my experience that you learn quicker and faster from a skilled and practised teacher than you ever may from a book. But there’s just one exception to this rule that stands out head and shoulders in my life. It’s not actually a physical book at all, in fact, it’s a PDF. I found it so useful that I printed out every page of my copy and had it professionally bound. That cost me more than any regular bookstore purchase but for me it was worth every cent.

Use Visualization To Make Money
The Image That Catapulted My Improved Lifestyle

Before I reveal the title of this book, and why reading it is warranted if you’re thinking of making any significant changes in your life, for example moving, or starting a business, I’m going to share a little of my story and surroundings.

Just five years ago I was renting a small two room apartment, opposite some wheely-bins, in the middle of Istanbul. Although the apartment enjoyed splendid views of the Bosphorus, and opposite was a grassy park, it became too small when our tiny baby started to grow.

I craved a return to the countryside and at about that time my sister-in-law sent me a greeting card with the image you see posted above as the frontpiece.

Unfortunately, as I write this, my sister-in-law is in a hospital in Atlanta, her pacemaker failed mid-flight from England. She was on her way to spend Christmas with relatives.

As I looked at the card I realized that the picture represented many of the features that I wanted in my life, and to be able to share these with my family, but in order to live like that almost everything would have to change!

Those days I was working hard in various different locations, both teaching psychotherapy and also practicing. I was fashionable among the wealthy middle classes of Istanbul, but devoted most of my time to working with a number of charities and public service organizations. In short there were routines to life, and also a personal identity and reputation to maintain, and these would all evaporate if we were to move to the countryside as I wished.

Around this time I heard about this e-Book. It was a popular product on the Internet and as soon as I purchased my copy, with my professional background, I could understand why. It is a cookbook for organizing your mind do get the results you require.

Before I go on I should state that, you can take the information in the book in two different ways. You can either assume the book intends that you understand the world as if it is constructed according to the principles of, another popular book published a few years later, called ‘The Secret’, or you can take it, as I do, as a recipe for organizing your thoughts and habits as well overcoming your inhibitions and opening up your perceptions to new possibilities.

Once you have purchased the book all you need do is apply the methods it prescribes. To do that you need a pen and paper, and also to devote a little time to improving your life. By the way, this isn’t about creating a wish list, or visualization, or chanting, or anything of that kind although if you are able to imagine a healthy future that will help.

There are two methods in the book. The first method is quite basic, but very powerful. The second is even more powerful and best not adopted until you’ve mastered the first.

How did I get on when I started to apply the methods contained in the book?

The Results:

  1. The rental on a larger apartment I was going to move to in order to maintain my current obligations fell through. But I had already given in my notice on the previous apartment, and so in effect had made the family homeless!
  2. Someone gave us the use of a house on a Mediterranean beach for as long as we want to use it, rent-free, provided we meet the service bills, (currently around $250 per year).
  3. I found and bought exactly the vehicle, colour make and model, I wanted for sale from a small used car seller that I hadn’t even noticed was there before, about one hundred yards from our home.
  4. An investment materialized providing sufficient funds to buy the car, move house, and live modestly for several years without ever having to work again.
  5. The house on the beach also has a stream running at the bottom of the garden, just like the cottage in the greeting card :-)

Make no mistake, I am not suggesting that you will necessarily obtain similar results. I am simply writing about how the information in this booked worked for me. I am now going to write why today I dusted-off my copy of that book and I’m starting to use it in tandem with the information provided by Alex Jeffreys.

If you are in any doubt about the veracity of my story then take a look here, it’s a blog that I’ve maintained for four years in which I share almost every detail of my dream lifestyle on a day-by-day basis :-)

Alex Jeffreys’ Coaching Strengths and Weaknesses

You see if there’s one weakness in Alex Jeffreys’ Coaching then it’s in the very first module. I don’t blame Alex for this, hey it’s the first time he’s attempted anything like this and what he put in that module is completely valid. The trouble is though, although he told you how to get into a business-mind-set; manage your time to be productive; and track when you’re ‘goofing off’, he didn’t mention any methods of honing your mind down so that it only can bring you the lifestyle that you want.

Since jump-starting my Internet business I’ve had to outsource some tasks and one of these has been to set someone going around other students’ blogs checking to see if they’re following Alex, using WordPress, have installed their Profit Pulling Project etc. Jobey, the guy I set on this task was here yesterday to share Christmas Dinner and, remarked “As far as I can see the only person that is benefiting from all these blogs is Alex Jeffreys.”

Jobey, of course, doesn’t have access to the coaching modules, and hasn’t been following the webinars so doesn’t appreciate just how much Alex is doing for us. But his comment got me thinking.

You see when you’re following a Master it’s important to separate the ‘Man’ from the ‘Message’. Alex would be the first to affirm that we’re all different, and it’s your ‘light’ that needs to shine in these blogs rather than his, because you and he are different. So whilst it’s desirable to follow Alex when it comes to time management, and finding business opportunities, it probably doesn’t suit to drink gallons of ‘Red Bull’ to keep yourself fuelled so that you can work 48 hours a day for seven days a week. It certainly doesn’t suit me!

Internet Marketing The Organic Way?

In my very first post on this blog I asked: “Does the Internet belong solely to the world of instant ‘Pop Tart’s and ‘Microwave Chips’ or can it serve those of us for whom ‘freedom’ means living a simple life, and perhaps serving others a little along the way? Is there a ‘wholemeal’ version of Internet marketing, or is it all scams and hype?

My future as an Internet marketer isn’t about trips to Los Vegas, or $3,000,000 yachts. I am happy with my present car, old and battered as it is; I would like to visit Lhasa and with a  €20,000 (body-only) Leica S2 and make serious landscape images though ;-)

So today, just to ensure that I end up at the end of this adventure with Alex Jeffreys where I want to be, rather than where he would be if he were me, I am starting to re-plan various aspects of my life using the eBook I am writing about here. If you would like to join me in this approach the author of the book has created a useful mini-course that is completely free of charge, and which you can use to powerful effect to: positively align your business and preferred lifestyle; avoid stressful burnout; and keep the support of your loved ones. Stephen,

Your blog projects an interesting viewpoint.

I am not impressed with folks hawking simple ways to make huge sums of money.

I am impressed with Alex in that he was able to put the pieces together for me. The Internet Marketing Business plan, the business system.

I believe the system is an excellent vehicle for distributing information.

However, I do believe there is a limit on how many times the same ebook can be repackaged and sold.

Your blog gives food for thought.

I’ll be back to check on you.

Tight lines,

Captain Hall,

To my mind this is the most important blog post I’ve made this year. It’s not about magic, or quantum nonsense that no-one, not even the scientists, truly understands. It’s simply about managing your mind to rid yourself of unhealthy inhibitions and to keep you focussed on your needs.

You see whilst for most of us an Internet business is desirable few of us have really looked beyond the money to understand what it requires.

Just as opening a village store requires you to be open-all-hours if it is to compete with today’s hypermarkets so an Internet business can become all consuming.

Cracks necessarily appear in personal relationships, when a business is all consuming. Holidays get pushed back, and spouses and offspring explore alternatives to your company. This eventually can bring a business down as the business owner falls into emotional turmoil as the family for which s/he was working so hard collapses.

Moreover, as one acquires yachts, fast cars, and gets tempted into other diversions one discovers that a yacht is an expensive mistress both in time and resources.

In my book health and happiness come first, and that wealth has to be a means to these. The word that’s important to me in the phrase ‘financial freedom’ is freedom. Finance without freedom seems to me potentially a very expensive commodity.

I like the way that Alex is putting the Internet Marketing game together for us, but I also intend to ensure that my lifestyle remains healthy, and puts the family first.

Thanks for reading my post ~ I hope you continue to find value when you visit in the future.

Warmly,

Stephen

Hello Stephen,

your post was probably the most important revelation I have read this year. I am one of those students of Alex who are lagging behind.

This is due to various reasons, some of them not under my control…
But it also has to do with the mindset you mention and the preparedness of how much to “invest” in this new venture - and there I must admit that I am certainly not the most motivated student.

However, with your observation in mind, I think this might change but I shall still be among those who struggle and loose their drive from time to time only to find out that catching up is even more frustrating.

So, I think it will be a good new year´s resolution to follow your advice, read the book you mention, and apply the principles in combination with Alex´ coaching and that way see success coming closer.

Thank you for an inspiring message, and all the best for 2009, above all a good and stable health, lots of love to give and receive, friendship and support from many sides, and success in all your endeavours.

Cheers,
Juergen

Juergen,

I am glad you found this post useful. I am writing this in a short break between setting out some targets, based upon my core values, using the methods outlined in the book.

Even after using the book previously I am discovering things about myself, and ways in which I’m ‘afraid’ to make progress.

The exercises do take some time but to my mind are well worth the effort if you want to create an Internet business that you own, rather than one that owns you.

Please let me know how you get on with the Free Course, or the Book.

With warm regards,

Stephen

That was very calm and thought-provoking Stephen.

I’m aware that there is much within me which has prevented me from being successful on the Internet for years. And I’m going to sign-up for the ecourse to see how that will help me.

I’m sure you’ve heard
“When the student is ready the teacher will come”
and this is what I feel has happened with Alex. I’ve been troubled for years that I wanted to work in my own little room, emailing others or talking on forums, but never meeting face-to-face and having to admit to my failures.

Alex has helped me realise: I’m not the only one in this position; that planning and goal setting are essential; that there are ways to outsource and free-up one’s time, and he’s certainly helped me to focus for the past few weeks.

But I know there is more that I need to learn about myself and I want to thank you for your post which has made me realise this and given me an opportunity to do something about it.
Best Wishes

Joe

Joe,

I really don’t think all that time working out of your home-office will be wasted. You’re bound to have garnered a lot of knowledge in those years, and I’m sure it will come together with what Alex is teaching us. In retrospect those years may well make sense, and indeed prove to be invaluable.

Anyway, good luck with the e-Course,

Warm regards,

Stephen

Hi Stephen,

i appreciate your comments on my blog. I can also understand your thinking as reagrds Alex’s teaching. He is good at what he does but it doesn’t always apply to every person that is in his class. I am not in this to make millions either. I would be glad to make enough so that I can manage my out goings and have a bit over to save or to travel. This would enable me to give up my 2 jobs that i now have to do and spend time working from home. I have also re-kindled my passion for writing. It may not be very good but I do enjoy it. Anyway can you give me any pointers for my blog and to get traffic to it as it is slow going. I will also take a look at the e-book you suggested. I think us “oldies ” should stick together as we are not quiet so dynamic as the youngsters and they can knock your confidence as well. I will be trying the video thing and will let you know when I have done my first video.
Oce again thanks for stopping by and commenting.look forward to hearing more from you.
