Are There Too Many Forums In Your Life?

By Stephen On December 17, 2008 Under Internet Marketing

My fellow students on Alex Jeffreys’ Coaching Course are taking initiatives. Some are following the curriculum and others are blazing ahead independently.

View my page on JV Village

I am being cautious. I like to see the big picture before attempting to alter the map. I know that I must create an e-book and eventually a product because these have been mentioned by Alex. I’m in no hurry, quality counts, I just don’t want to be left behind again.

Recently I’ve become aware that people are setting up forums. One forum I visited had an indiciferable ‘Captcha’ on it. It locked me out for a full five minutes as I attempted to register. Traditionally forums have been seen as places where Internet Marketers broker joint ventures and help each other out, in exchange for being able to put a link to their URL in the post signature. This is supposed to bring traffic.

Garry Parkes plans to open a Profit Pulling Project forum soon. Current forums for Alex Jeffreys’ students and devoted to his Coaching Course include:

http://www.g4usbmarketing.com/forum/
http://www.theimcrowd.com/bb3
http://fortunate500.ning.com/

The problem for our forums is that time spent’ chatting’ may be better spent developing products or services. But isn’t it just so much more comfortable to discuss things, rather than taking action?

It matters not if you’re a student of Alex Jeffreys, or not, just ask yourself this question. Am I contributing to the Forum and is the Forum truly helping me to build my Internet business.

If the answer to  the first question is ‘No’, you’re doing yourself no favours. If the answer to the second is ‘No’ then you’re wasting time that could be better spent on other activities.

Has Alex Jeffreys got my Cat?
My Boys cat Gerry has gone missing since the last Coaching session and I suspect he may have slipped into AJ’s suitcase and gone on an Exotic holiday to learn internet marketing?

Alex Jeffreys Video Contest
Okay, since I have been sick with a cold and not much voice, I have been stressing over the past week to try and get this contest task done.

Good evening Stephen,

I am one of your fellow students on Alex´s course. I have been a little tardy coming to see your blog, so I apologize for that.

It´s only, in the last few days that I´ve managed to catch up to a level where I don´t feel in a constant state of panic !

Would you be so kind as to add me to your blog roll ?

Regards,

Paull Hamilton

Hi Stephen

Thanks for dropping by my blog and leaving such a supportive comment.I quite like your strategy of tackling things from a wider perspective and valuing quality over anything else.

I personally think chatting is all part of establishing contacts and trying to understand what your potential JV partner and you both have to offer each other and the possibily of utilizing both parties different key assets to create maximum leveraging opportunities.

For example, if you had a qaulity product and had a few established JV Partners you have worked with before and I had a really big customer list and specialised in using video marketing or vice versa, then we would probably chat about this and then think how we could leverage out individual key assets/skills it to produce more sales.

It may not be highly productive, but sometimes it may be necessary.

But I could be wrong here - so I guess we will find out once we getting a bit more deeper in to Alex’s Coaching Course

All the best
Nigel

Hi Stephen,

On some levels I agree with you, forums can be a complete time waster and taking action is what matters ….

… but on other levels, sharing insights and getting to know each other will help when we move forward ….

I tend to use a block of time for “networking” and it works fine, but not everyone can do that.

Getting the balance is the trick ;-)

Nice Blog BTW, and easy read, well done.
